Well, it does help if you have some idea of what you want to study. If you don't have any idea, then... well, you're screwed. :p

Think about what your favourite subjects in school, maybe you want to continue with one of those... or check out the websites of some universities and read the course descriptions and see if anything appeals.

Once you know what you want to do, find universities that offer that, and pick a few - because you've heard good things about that university, or because it's close to somewhere else, or because you just like the sound of it.

Personal statement's easy. Just talk about why you want to study a particular subject, and any work experience related to that, and anything else you can throw in - hobbies, positions of responsibility in school, extra-curricular activities, etc. You could also mention why you want to study in the UK.

    Good luck... :)

I don't do anything.... at all... And I think there are about 2000 Psychology courses in UK and all I want is the most reputable with low enough grades.

Think of *something*. Apparently they're looking for 'well-rounded' people. Sigh. Throw in anything - school fundraisers, transition year crap...

D'you know what type of psychology you want to do? UCAS have categories for specialised branches of psychology, which'd make picking six colleges a lot easier. Or, failing that, click on the 'psychology as a single subject' option, which limits it to something like 144 courses, and click on the ones at universities you wouldn't mind going to, and then check the 'entry profile' yoke for the grades they're looking for.

Oooh, another thing you might want to take into account is the amount of time the course lasts - go for the three-year ones if you want to be out of there fast. ;) And in some of the universities - I don't know which ones it applies to apart from St Andrew's, 'cause I applied there - you do four years but finish with an MA rather than just a BA, which is rather nifty.

Well I was thinking about doing it with a subject, like "Psychology w/Art and Design"
which they do in Worcester and Bolton, I've never heard of these Unis and I haven't a portfolio done...

Not to be discouraging, but it's probably not a good idea to apply for something that needs a portfolio when you don't have one. :p

is it really the deadline tho, on the ucas site it just says the advisory deadline,
also does anyone know if they accept variations on grades? ie the course i want you need 3 higher B's ans 2 higher C's wheres i have 1 A 1 B and 4 Cs
