PC answering phone problem...

Someone was messing with my PC and installed MS Messenger. Now everytime the phone rings the modem on my PC cuts in and starts making noises like its trying to connect. What the heck is this. Theres nothing on screen to show what it trying to do. AV and firewall don't seem to have found anything.
