    Hi,

I have an old CD that was burned using old software. Its got some important data on it and I need to retrieve it.

Now, when I put it in my machine, running on XP home edition, the CD is not recognised. I kinda expected this.

Is there anyway of retrieving the data from the CD using a different reading/writing program, different to the one found on Windows XP?

Any help would be appreciated on this.

I know the CD can work on older machines but i have no way of transferring it onto this one.

    Thank you.

Must be very old if you cant read it under XP, I know its got to do with the ISO standard, try mounting it under linux if you can, if not maybe the CD is corupt, never can across this before...........

Its taking its sweet time, but working.

But its very annoying all the same.

    Thanks for your advice
