    just wondering if anyone can suggest an open source backup proggie?

    I presume you mean for Windows, right? You could try and port this :D

    For BeOS theres BMS Backup. Its GPL'ed but you'll have a hard time finding the source because the company released it *JUST* before going totally bankrupt....

    Nice app though

    not a programmer, so porting is not an option :(

    windows backup ( ntbackup ) will do a reasonable job for you, but because it is stupid, it won't use dvd/cd/r/rw disks as backup media.

    arggghhhh, 4gb limit with ntbackup. guess ill have to use petty cash for this one
