the PC is running WIN 2K & the laptop WIN XP. i ask this cause the PC has an ISDN connection where as the laptop has a 56K built in and i dont wanna fork out for a PCMCIA card

If you've already got them networked then you're almost there. You just have to enable ICS on the PC (search for it in help and you'll get instructions) and on the laptop set the default gateway (in the TCP/IP settings) to the IP address of PC. You can also use the Network Setup Wizard in XP to do everything for you.

searched for ICS in WIN 2K and found nothing. any more info would be a help. set the default gateway to the same as the PC on the laptop so all i need to do is sort out this ICS thing
