Vichy France's Pacific Front presence, where its forces fought against Japanese, Thais and Japanese again.

The start of World War II in 1939 and the armistice of Rethondes in June of 1940, weakened significantly the French position in the Far East. The Japanese used the opportunity to exact bases in the Tonkin and in Lang-Son (in today's Vietnam). The people of Thailand embarked in a wave of protest rallies to get back the Thai ex-possessions in Laos and Cambodia, which the French had occupied since 1893. On October 20th, 1940 Luang Piboon-Songkram, the Thai Prime Minister, put the armed forces on alert on the Thai-Indochina border. War quickly ensued on land and in the air, starting the so-called "Battle of Indo-China"(1940-1941).

Hmmm nice historical facts, sorry i dont mean to sound like a smartarse, but you posted a historic fact, just wondering what point or quesiton your trying to put across? It is however interesting that Thailand took such an active part in the Axis but is hardly mentioned historically.

Does he have to? No harm in learning something new as far as I'm concerned, and this gave me a good 40 minutes of interesting reading.
    but is hardly mentioned historically.
Hence the reason I didn't know it :). Tis nice to learn it now like.
