Not that impressed. Just priced the following :

    Microsoft (R) Windows (R) XP Pro (T2200)
    Intel Pentium M 1.7GHZ Processor
    512MB 333MHz DDR 1 SO-DIMM
    20GB 9.5mm Hard Drive (5400RPM)
    24X CD-ROM DRIVE.TRANSPORT T2200
ATI Mobility Radeon 9000 64MB Video Graphics 4x AGP
    Integrated 56K v.90 Modem
    Integrated 10/100 LAN
NBK Optical USB Mini-Mouse 2 Button Scroll
    Microsoft Works Suite 2004
NB 1st-3rd Yr Depot, Parts & TS (T)

    for $2,319.00 (€1,819.66 )

Went to Dell.ie and priced this:
    533 Mhz Processor Side Bus
Equipped with Microsoft® Windows® XP operating system
    512KB on-die L2 cache
A choice of nVidia® GeForce™ FX Go5200 video controller with 64MB DDR video memory or
Video Memory - 32Mb DDR Video SDRAM upgradable to 64MB
Internal 56Kbps V.92 capable modem and 10/100 Ethernet LAN on Motherboard
One type I/II PC Card slot
    Ports: USB 2.0 (x2), VGA, Headphones, Speaker, RJ-11, RJ-45, S-Video, IEEE1394
Fixed 8x (max) DVD-Rom drive - upgrade to CD-RW/DVD Combo or DVD+RW Drive
    Built-in Stereo speakers
Lithium Ion 12 cell (96Whr) battery
    Norton Anti-Virus 2003, Dell E-Support Solution Centre
    Dell Keyboard with Touchpad
Operating System: Microsoft® Windows® XP Professional Recommended For Small Business (+ EUR EUR 75.00)
    Processor: 5150 with Intel® Pentium® 4 processor 3.06Ghz
    Screen: 15" SXGA+ (1400 x 1050) TFT Colour Display 5150
    Memory: 512MB 333 MHz DDR SDRAM (2x256) (+ EUR EUR 100.00)
    Hard Drive: 30GB Hard Drive
Video Card: nVidia® GeForce™ FX Go5200 video controller with 64MB DDR (+ EUR EUR 60.00)

    For €1699.05

Look at the difference in the processor speed???? Add to that the fact that Dell engineers, while not the sharpest tools in the bag in my experience), are basec in Dublin. I would say Delll are better value.

Why does this web site interest you? Are ther some 'specials' I am missing?

Really? You can get an M for €342.86 here and that's with a 30 second google. A P4 3.06 is available through our commercial sponsers Komplett for €285.67. That's a difference of €57. Hardly a fortune.

As I have said that's with a quick look on google. Maybe you should have done the same. ;)

They are two different beasts all together. Different mobo / chipset / cpu etc.

Maybe you should google for a bit longer than 30 seconds ;)

I accept that. What is your point?

I was answering the direct question as originally posted:

My point is that its not. There is €57 in the difference. Do you dispute that?

I also highlighted the fact that the clock speed on the P4 is a lot greater then that on the M. In fact looking a spec-tests and comparing the 2 chips on this site it looks like the P4 is the "better" chip in terms of performance.

Maybe you should have read what i was actually replying to instead of "jumping" on the band wagon. :dunno:
