Texting from Vodafone to landline

    hello,

    just bought a new panasonic cordless phone before christmas with landline capability. have now just found out after ringing eircom that vodafone and themselves did not reach agreement on supporting this.....guess i won't be sending to many texts after all...

    I could send & receive SMS's to/from a landline phone using
    my Vodafone mobile. Out of interest, have you tried it out yet?

    i've tried it, but without success. did you need to use and start and end characters around the number (# whatever) ?

    I have that eircom cordless phone (4012 or something?) and landline to vodafone works, last time i tried anyway, which would have been last week.

    Hi, Vodafone to landline did not work initially (but you could send from landline to Vodafone). I think its two-way now ... least it was!

    No special characters are required. Like KeithD, I used an Eircom 5012 cordless phone. Tried and tested just last week, it works fine, albeit there was a slight delay sending an SMS from mobile -> landline.
