Women. I'm terribly intimidated by them. It's gotten better recently, but back in 2001 I had trouble even talking to them.

Communism doesn't scare me. Seriously. I'll take on any communist that wants to*

*In a perfectly reasonable debate, of course :D

my imagination finally getting the better of me and consequently rotting in the street somewhere because of the paranoia and then killing myself to end the insanity of it all in a Gerard de Nerval fashion.

and waking up one morning with all of my memories gone.

Fears? Hmm, I've quite a list.
    Clowns. Sometimes.
    Growing up.
    Having to do a job.
I'm also shy, so I can sorta say people, but only when they outnumber me and I don't know them.
    Heights.
    Being buried alive.
    Being cremated alive.
    Big bird.
Umm, I'll think of more later.

Falling a very long way onto a hard surface

Being marooned somewhere, with no friends or net

Death of someone i care about

Drowning. I dont know why, just hate the idea of my lungs filling with water *shudder*

    Barney (Dinosaurs were NOT purple!)

Thats about it, clowns too sometimes, they're kinda weird

<edit: Am i the only one that thought gigglinrat said boards scared her?>

I have a odd claustrophobic-paranoia thing where I can't sit with my back to a group of people (at the front of a bus, facing the wall in a restraunt etc...) I get really uncomfortable and keep thinking someone's gonna sneak up and attack me or something. Also up until about 2yrs ago I had a serious fear of being abducted by aliens.

Clowns scare me too ever since a recent, unpleasant trip to the Circus.
Mirrors, I absolutely hate them......(not because I don't like what I see..) They just freak me out if they are in the bathroom or something. And also I can't help wondering if when I'm asleep or not looking at a mirror, but I'm facing it and I'm being reflected in the mirror, does my reflection start dancing about or doing other things that don't match my movements???
That there really is a God, and he is how the Bible portrays him, and therefore I am damned to spend eternity in Hell! YAY!
That I will one day have to go out and get a job and it'll probably be in a god-awful office and i'll end up insane as a result of workingg somewhere I dispise.
When People stare at me or take my picture....grr, I really dislike that as it makes me painfully self-conscious.... PLEASE DON'T DO IT!!! Thee occassional picture I suppose I can tolerate.
And my usual, that when I die, I'll be naked. (shudder)

aye, i do find my own face rather scary.

i too find clowns scary, not all clowns, just...a specific type of clown. i blame whoever told me to go to www.stopclownpornnow.com

    /me shakes fist

-being abducted in a panelled white van
-spending ages studying for the leaving cert and finally getting into the course i thought i wanted only to discover that i hated it and that i should have gone to art college instead (yes, i'm aware i've a whole 3 years until college)
-falling down the stairs. i'll be in bed, and i'll heear somebody walking downstairs and then i have a horribly vivid image of them slipping and banging their head off each stair. oh, jesus, i'm scared
-tokophobia. i'm not afraid of it, i just have it

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,196 ✭✭✭✭Crash

At the moment? The CAO form sitting around the house. My architecture portfolio.
    The mocks
    the orals
that i'm not gonna get the 500 points i need to be certain of my course.

That between now and then i'm gonna snap and go completely and utterly insane.

And these are only the fears i'm willing to make known

wats with the irrational fear of clowns? God, yes, I can see where thats coming from, but clowns are just old men/ women with greasepaint on their faces and rediculas clothes. Just like temple bar, really.

Having knives, staple guns, scissor blades, broken glass or anything else sharp pointed at me. Even if they're just lying on a table facing me *shudders*. Also, having to walk with sharp objects. Normally the above two fears don't bother me, but it's when I think "Hey, that knife is pointing at me", or "I'm walking with scissors", that I start to panic.
Seeing reflections in the dark. Terrifies me.
When people grab my wrists or touch my throat I panic. I've noticed that in a lot of people, I take it it's a natural instinct against wrist/throat-slitting.
I used to have an intense fear of Wee Willy Winky. I mean, think about it...this guy goes creeping around to check that all the children are in their beds...but it never said what he would do to them. I used to think that if I wasn't in bed by eight p.m. he'd tickle me to death. And I had nightmares about it *shudders*.
I also used to be afraid of the monkeys that I believed were in my lampshade. And if I woke up in the middle of the night they'd come out of my lampshade and make fun of me and threaten me...I was only dreaming but I was convinced they were there coz I'd have the dream right before I woke up.

Irrational fear of clowns? whats irrational about it? They have criss cross eyes like dead people have, they wear insanely baggy clothes to make room for all the children they eat and have really big mouths to eat the children. And then the fact that they're meant to be funny makes it all really... Well, i dunno the word for it, but its like when you see a homicidal maniac smile that creepy ' I'm gonna get you' smile. Clowns are also really sleazy and old. Aine, I know what you mean about the knife thing. Movies you see where a knife thats standing still suddenly stabs someone lots make me scared of that too. I'm really scared of heights so much that every time I cross a bridge I 'm all thinking, hey, there's a chance I could fall. then i get scared. Whoever Marclar is, I would ask you please to not put a link to a website that contains the words clowns and porn. Me shudders.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,388 ✭✭✭Señor Juárez

it also contains the word "stop". thankfully it doesnt need to give examples of what it is trying to stop.

not getting into meh chosen course is bugging me lately. so much work building up in school. i cannot cope. I CANNOT COPE!

    Study... Well maybe study.

I've so far in my life failed to study. I need to be able to study by next year else I don't have a snowballs hope in hell of getting a 1.1 in my degree. If I don't get at least a 2.1 in my degree then I can't do the thought Masters I wanna do etc etc etc.

    Having my teeth removed.

Also trigger-happy war-junkies like Bush sitting quite contrarily in the White House with all but a BUTTON between him and complete nuclear annihilation of the planet.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,880 ✭✭✭Raphael

Gotta agree, the thought of bush getting re-elected terrifies me.

    And this is why

The man should be on the US special Olympics Team

wat scares me..........err its more like wat dosnt.
    *scary movies
    *scary books
*scary nething (im an embarrassment in the cinema)
stuff i cnt control at all is ok, so FATE is just that big thing in the beyond that makes thing happens, but losing control of stuff i had control over scares me.
    emm letting myself down
being left behind, dying however dosnt- its just a step on.
but aswell as scaring me, stuff that scares me also fasinates me, so its a sort of catch 22.
    very violent violence, terrifies me.
theres more stuff that i cnt be bothered to list.

Yeah, mirrors scare the crap out of me, especially in the dark... I'm always afraid I'll see something in the mirror and then I'll look around and its NOT ACTUALLY THERE! Its weird. Im also afraid of school, (with very good reason), public transport, Connamara, and the fact I don't know whats going to happen to me after I die. Well I presume I'll decay slowly (unless Im cremated) but what will happen to my soul? Do I even have a soul? Does anybody have a soul? Ok Im gone off the point, but u get what I mean.

Hum. I ain't afraid of dyin - I don't fink it's all it's cracked up to be - but I don't like pain since it makes me so horribly egotistical, or is that egotisticable. Me, me, me, ow.

Being old... Being alone... Feet (specifically toes)... Falling off a cliff... Being raped... Intense pain... Waking up and not being able to move... Being buried alive... China dolls that look like they're going to come to life and attack you... Going for an operation and being aware of everything thats going on and feeling everything but not being able to tell the doctors because you cant move or make any noise (IT HAPPENS!)... Beards that look like pubes... Being blind... Those nasty scuttley spiders... Even worse, those big hairy ones that crawl really stealthily... Blood... Sharp things going anywhere near the underside of my forearms... Being eaten alive by something... Uggghhhh
