    If you're using a competent browser, it doesn't.
    The image is downloaded once, cached and then any requests made for that image link are cross-checked against teh cache for file date and filesize with the original.
    If you've got the same image linked once or 50 times you only need to download it/check the cache once.

    I used to use Opera, but it started fecking up on me and there were a few annoying little things in it.
    Certain versions used crash for no reason whatsoever.

    Settled with Firebird now.
