I'm not actually asking for one, but I'm just wondering should there be one? I was wondering yesterday if I wanted to post certain news related topics where would I post them? Obviously the Politics forum takes up most of them. But where would I post if I wanted to post topics about Michael Jackson's court appearance, an earthquake in Iran, a plane crash or Harold Shipman's suicide (to name a few examples of recent news)

There is After Hours, but if I wanted a serious topic about one of the above (without muppetry) where would I post?

Just about every forum has topics with news relating to the theme of the forum.
If you want news go to http://news.bbc.co.uk/

I didn't say I wanted news, I was wondering if there was a place to discuss it.

I think Politics, After Hours and Humanities pretty much have discussion of news covered.
