Who is in charge of the traffic light sequencing, dcc ?

This might seem trivial but the reason i ask is that at a junction i pass through every day, the green light is biased in favour of the 'minor' road than the more busier one opposite.

How can it be justified for every single car that approaches a set of traffic lights that they immediately turn green for the driver and hold up traffic on the opposite end of the junction disproportionately ?

Also why do some junctions that are crying out for a set of traffic lights are ignored ?

In the city council area they are responsible - contact Traffic Control on 1800 29 39 49 (put it in your mobile now). Outside the Dublin City Council area phone AA Jambusters 1850 542 542.

Remember one of the main functions of traffic lights is to BREAK UP the flow of traffic so there is less downstream congestion. Traffic lights are not just about getting the maximum traffic through a particular junction..

Muck - are these the same guys to complain about lights not detecting cars ?
