Privacy Notice and Conditions of Use

I'm currently setting up an ecommerce site for a client. It's the first one I've done and am looking for a bit of advice.

I have sections on the site with the following headings:

Privacy Notice

and

Conditions of Use


I have been looking at various sites with similar sections and they seem to vary a lot in length and complexity.
I was wondering if anybody knows of a sample of either of these that I could use or adapt for my needs.

Seeing as we will be dealing with peoples credit cards it's important that everyone knows where they stand.

Any advice would be great.

As IE6 has some rather conservative privacy rules built in it's worth the bit of effort gettting that right

With regards to the conditions of use... Have a look at what other people are using, but run it by a solicitor to be sure. It may cost you a bit now, but it could save you a fortune later.

I thought some of the government websites may have a set of ecommerce rules or guidlines but have yet to find anything

It might be a good idea to look at other sites that are selling the same goods/services as your client too. This way you might come accross industry specific conditions that may apply to their provision of goods/services.
