    Wh00p.

I just refreshed gamespy and noticed for once in a long while, pings to barrysworld weren't ****e!

I then performed a tracert on one of the BarrysWorld Q3 servers... this is the report I got...

    Tracing route to BWSERVER12 [194.88.93.25]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

    1 158 ms 152 ms 159 ms 194.145.128.236
    2 123 ms 129 ms * hades.esatclear.ie [194.145.128.254]
    3 133 ms 129 ms 144 ms serial3-0.cr17.dublin.esat.net [193.120.19.129]

    4 135 ms 159 ms 134 ms fe1-0-0.border0.dublin.esat.net [193.120.12.46]

    5 145 ms 139 ms 124 ms Dub-ar01.IE.EU.net [134.222.197.1]
    6 * 154 ms 154 ms Ldn-nr05.UK.EU.net [134.222.229.162]
    7 135 ms 154 ms 159 ms Bwd-nr02.UK.EU.net [134.222.229.165]
    8 * 148 ms 149 ms Lon-nr10.UK.EU.net [134.222.229.125]
    9 154 ms 154 ms 144 ms core1.telehouse.level3.net [195.66.224.77]
    10 150 ms 164 ms 164 ms loopback0.core1.London1.Level3.net [212.113.2.65
    ]
    11 155 ms 164 ms 164 ms loopback0.dwaccess2.London1.Level3.net [212.113.
    2.70]
    12 405 ms 869 ms 778 ms 212.113.3.11
    13 155 ms 149 ms 224 ms BWSERVER12 [194.88.93.25]

And as you can see, its NOT being routed through New York City & Washington like before!!

since when was that good mirv? I never had any trouble pinging bw servers at 100 from modem, so I would have to say your 150-200 pings are pretty rubbish

Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool

    Gah Osi,
When was the last time you've been on a modem? Then think about when was the last time you were on Surf No Limits, for most esat(ers) I'd say 140 ping is a lot better than a 1000 ping from routing to the US smile.gif

Yup that extra £3 a month seems to have improved things no end.

Better pings than before and faster downloads.

Er just tried oceanfree there, gave me a direct connection to the uk, sometimes I have seen it going through amsterdam alright at peak hours but its quite rare

    11 36 ms 34 ms 34 ms BWSERVER12 [194.88.93.25]

Actaully its going through Amsterdam today, damn it used to always go the direct way, I suppose it tries to find the route that gives the lowest ping and amsterdam does when the uk routers are busy.

My ping's still 1000 frown.gif. That means that Esat's not my problem at all. Yay, I think. Maybe it's something to do with the fax-machine, 12 phones, dozens of line branches and call-record-machine on the same line frown.gif. Yessss, just realised, good excuse for losing isn't it? cool.gif
