    the Strokes are you mad?? They could hardly be counted as one of the Greatest Bands ever. The singer is just the most boring person i have ever heard in my life. Pick someone else man!!

    You've obviously never heard of a certain Nick Cave if you think Julian is bad!
    He shouldn't pick someone else, 'is this it' is included as one the best twenty albums of all time in recent polls/charts.
    Those of us who love The Strokes understand their genius and if you can't hear past his voice then don't slate them.

    just started listening to The Best Of Hootie & The Blowfish and it is an absolute classic.I have never heard any of their stuff before but the album is unbeleivable if u like that type of stuff so gonna add them to the list!

    the beatles were a top quality band but I dont think they were the best ever.there have been better bands since but the beatles did inspire alot of bands which is important

    For me it is still The Beatles. Some of their original songs will last forever.
    However, lets not forget the enormous impact Simon & Garfunkel had and the beautiful songs they composed like:- 'A Bridge over troubled water'.

    As for individual entertainer. It has to be "The King" Elvis .

    Elvis didnt write any of his songs.He was the original ronan keating in that he was all comercial. How can someone be the greatest by singing someone elses material????
