did anyone get a version of linux working on an nforce2board?

Just wondering as i've tried a lot of times to install linux (mandy 9.2) on my nforce 2 board but with no luck- so can anyone reccommend a version that they have got working on thier nforce board? i've never used linux before and i'd love to start learning aout it but with no install the learning curve isn't exactly soaring!
any suggestions appreciated

Mandrake is pretty rubbish to be honest.

yup have mandrake 9.1 and that knoppix working on a msi nforce2 K7N2G-ILSR board no problems.

The only problem I had was with a sata maxtor harddrive but think I read somewhere thats been sorted with mandrake 9.2 I think. Got it working on the motherboard with an older 80gb seagate.
