Came across this thread after i posted, seems to have good advice..

What does anyone think of this deal::

    Philips 32PW6506 32”/ Widescreen TV

    For ~€830

Or the 32PW6006 32" - which works out about €620 (seems bit better)

Importing from England though... Would I be better off getting one in the likes of DID etc as silverside suggests??

Oh and Im in Galway! :)

Think I will get seperate speakers/dolby decoder such as the new creativelabs ddts-100

If you're ordering from England, you'd better make sure the TV tuner covers VHF bands as some UK TV's are UHF only.

Also think if you get it from the UK and you suffer faults sending it back might be a pain, I'm not sure what happens in that case. As I said Philips make a good TV but the soldering in the Panasonics is known as the best, so says a pal of mine in the trade. IMO Sony TVs are overrated!!!!
