    right,

IR is activated on my phone and said IR sensor is activated on meh laptop.

PC Suite picks up the fone [after a lil while] but when I click apply, it freezes for a few mins and gives me an error.

[edit] actual error is IrSocket Error (0x80043205, NokiaCL.ServiceLayer)

My IR port intermittedly pops up telling me the 6100 is in range but when I go to pass anything to the fone it stops.

    any ideas?

hi - have you tried using the latest version of the PC Suite for the phone?

Are you running any personal firewall protection (can sometimes cause problems)?

Are you using that piece of **** sunway USB IR adapter? I bought one and had the exact same problems, another mate of mine said he had had the saem problem too but got a different IR adapter for his PC and it worked fine then.

Let me know if that s/w upgrade does any good

I'm using the Infa-Red port on the fone and on my laptop.

might try one of those serial cables.

Well it's the same thing, it's just that your laptop has one built in by the sounds of it.

Yay finally got mine working, I changed Infrared Tranceiver type to "Sigmatel 4000" in the advanced tab of the properties of the "wireless link" and everything is going smoothly now :)
