Just wondering how you download movie trailers from apple's site as opposed to streaming them?

    cheers

In QuickTime Alternative at least (it uses the QT codecs so QT should do it too), the latest version has the option to save as movie when you right click near the bottom right ;)

    It is what it's.

They come up in the browser not in a client so the file menu is not available.

So, view source, search for .mov, copy URL (eg 480x50xxxxxxxx.mov), past URL into download manager, now unfortunately it is some kind obfuscated shortcut, so open in registered quicktime, then save including dependencies, ie as a .mov

If have no registered quicktime then view in browser then check temp dir.

D'ya try right-clicking on it? Or if there's a seek bar, click the down arrow on the right-hand side.

    Worth a look but

The only useful thing there is

Browser Plugins > Save movies in disk cache (tick box)

So check the box, view the movie, search your cache for .mov files. You never know.

As an aside, a large majority of the trailers I've seen on the Apple site have a download option. Plus if you Google a little for "movie trailers", you'll find quite a few sites that store the mov files locally.

if you have a registered version of quicktime pro as opposed to the free one, you can right click on the video window and choose 'save as source' and then save the file the same as any others.

The QuickTime 6.4 browser plugin gives you a menu option to save as .mov. Try d/l'ing the latest version of Quicktime.

    It is what it's.
