Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

A bit of a mixed bag really, with one obvious highlight tie...

    Man Utd v Man City/Spurs
    Tranmere v Swansea
    Telford/Millwall v Burnley
    Sunderland v Birmingham
    Sheff Utd v Coventry/Colchester
    Arsenal v Chelsea
    Liverpool v Portsmouth
    Everton/Fulham v West Ham

I'd be inclined to think that, but then again, it is the FA Cup. It's not looking good for lower division clubs too.

I think that Chelsea will win as well
It looks like there could be a manchester derby

Fifth Round of the cup there's usually some surprises. Utd will have a derby if city come throught , they are always unpredictable. Can't see Sunderland beat Birmingham and I too would go for Chelsea to beat the Gunners particulary if Arsenal dont feild their strongest team. Liverpool have a tricky tie there too.

from a betting perspective what you think of betting on 6 home wins out of 8? telford, sunderland and arsenal being the dodgy three, one of those would have to win, making 6...
just a thought, don't normally bet but could be worth a fiver...

I don't think there will be a Manchester derby. Spurs are playing really well and they will be at home in the replay while City aren't playing very well.

BTW uberwolf - I wouldn't go with that bet, there will be one or two upsets and one or two draws. Everyone seems to forget that teams do draw.:p

Would it not be wise to reduce your risk a smidge and wait and seewho comes out of the replays before rushing to the bookies? Cumulative odds on eight matches are long enough with out betting on two teams that may not even be in the 5th round.

Good draw for Liverpool I'd say there is no way
that Portmouth will beat them again this season!

It's a Mickey Mouse competition which last carried some weight about 7 to 10 years ago.

It's Champions' League or nothing, anything else is second/third rate.

The romance of the Cup, jumpers for goalposts etc! :D

I'd have to strongly disagree with that statement. If you look at the eventual winners for the last 10 years not one of them has come from outside the top 5 teams in the premiership, hence they consider it important enough to win. Look at the league cup in contrast. Also look at the finalists. All premiership teams. Correct me if Im wrong

1993 Arsenal V Sheff Wednesday Winners Arsenal
1994 Man Utd V Chelsea Winners Chelsea
1995 Man Utd V Everton Winners Everton
1996 Man Utd V Liverpool Winners Manutd
1997 Chelsea V Middlesbo Winners Chelsea
1998 Arsenal V Newcastle Winners Arsenal
1999 Newcastle V Man Utd Winners Man Utd
2000 Arsenal V Liverpool Winners Liverpool
2001 Arsenal V Chelsea Winners Arsenal
2003 Arsenal V Southampton Winners Arsenal

Pretty strong competition if you ask me. In fact it is only back to 1992 that you will find a team that were not in top flight football when they played in the final and they were Sunderland

why would arsenal not field their strongest team?
Henry having a breather against the boro isn't a sign of complaicency. mind u, if cudicini is still in nets for chelsea, who knows.
Arsenal to win it, with out Jeffers this year. 3-1.
