no safe mode

    Using an Amd Xp 3000, 512 RAM and XP Pro, when i boot it up and press f8 windows does not give me the option to enter safe mode, is any other option to get into safe mode ?

    Press and hold F8 before the Windows loading screen appears

    Just as the BIOS screen disappears is when to press the F8 key...

    Depends on who manufactures your comptuer. Could be F8, could be F10.

    MarkR, you're getting mixed up with entering the BIOS and getting the Windows boot menu.

    F8 is the only key that'll bring up the boot meny for Windows.
