    ok my lan connection is rightly borked and i avent a clue how to fix it right.


    so can some1 pls tell me the correct clients,services and protocols to be used in a lan connection for optimum and reliable pings/performance?

    using win xp home SP1 btw

    If your using XP then its easy,,,,,

    Conect each PC together, then run network setup config on all the PC's restart them all and youll have your network...

    If you'd rather have more control over your settings, post a bit more detail e.g.

    How may PCs?
    How are they connected - via a switch/hub, or direct via crossover cable?
    Was your connection working previously?
    Are you sharing an internet connection?

    And anything else you think might be useful.

    well its for lans using a switch.
    it allowed me to join game servers but not host one.
    i have al firewalls and anti-virus software off but no affect.
    so can any1 tell me what i need in my lan connection.
    i.e. tcp/ip, cleint for windows,QoS packet sheulder, or if i need authentication on/off ( if on what type, smart card , md5-chalenge , etc.
