I live just off lower mount street and work in various offices around that area, and I have to say, I'm starting to get a little pissed off at all the motorcades tearing up and down the road at all hours of the day and night.

just now I saw one go past and I'd swear that the face straring out at me (and he was staring at me) was the former Iraqi Information Minister! It might not have been him, but whoever it was was definately of an 'Arabic' nature with regard to facial features and complexion, and was wearing full military attire including a beret and a whole bunch of those little medals that fit nicely together and look like a stretched out rubic's cube.

    bonkers.

You did not see any vans, the Iraqi information minister was not there, the infidels are burning in O'Connell street and everything is fine!!

Hmmm, might have been the iraqi information minister. Hes apparently turned up working for an arabic tv station ( not al jazzeera, abu something or other ) and their budget for jouranlists reporting from EU summits might cover limos and police escort.

Yeah, my sister had contact with the son - he's a lovely fellow apparently.

Anyway, yeah I also saw one of those wacky races. I was at the crossing from Connolly Station. Go to the middle island. A Garda motorbike flies up and stops at the island - noone else is allowed cross the road now. We wait a minute and the little parade flies buy - you've got garda bikes either end, in between them two vans (assumedly full of security) and in between them is the car. Bless.

Well, you know if you want, I will ring down to Comrade Oisin Kelly from UCD and we can put a stop to all those motorcades - of course the protest (subject: all suggestions welcomed) would stop anything with wheels moving at all but at least there'd be no motorcades.
