    Just to be pedantic.
    CAD - was used to get the keyboard controller to reboot PC's until windows came along.
    M$ needed a key combination for use by windows and in the true spirit of standards they realised that the ONLY key combination not used by something else was the reserved CAD. So they used it.
    Now the ineresting bit. Because M$ intercepted the CAD function for their own use it means when windows crashes CAD won't restart your computer . This is a minor annoyance since it means more messing around - and in the case of portables you sometimes have to remove the battery to get it to play ball..
