Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Stop talking rubbish and start actually watching the games - Lehmann has been top-class so far this season, on a par with Howard at United, best 2 goalies in the league on current form imo.
Robinson has struggled this season, he'd admit it himself. Thats the reason why he isn't England Number 1 despite all the current English goalies being sub-par and its also the reason why Robinson is joining Spurs - a struggling mid-table club who will never compete with Arsenal, United, Chelski or even Liverpool or Newcastle in the forseeable future.

    Lehmann - Goals Con. 15
    Saves 137

    Howard - Goals Con. 17
    Saves 129

Hmm....... interesting. So Howard is'nt better then?? Wierd that:eek:

Oh and defenders have nothing to do with those stats???

those stats dont show that either keeper is better than the other one but that they are roughly on a par. imo howard shades it.

of course they are nothing compared to Kirkland :D

dont forget henry was pleyed out of position at Juve as more of a left winger than a striker(i know he spends a lot of time on the left but he's still a long way from his old position *

he may have when he was younger in france. maybe wenger saw him play there before, maybe in a youth game or something. But then again these are all just may and maybes

So you think that because Lehman has got better statistics that he is a better keeper? Just goes to show how much you know about football.

'Statistics are like mini skirts, they are nice to look at but tend to hide what we all want to see'

    What?

If a keeper lets in less goals is he not better? Seams fairly simple to me. Try and make it easier for me cos apparently im an idiot. And lehmann has 1 assist BTW.

not quite henry 14. the only way to judge a goalkeeper is if he has the same defence as another. i cant see u diputing that arsenal have better defenders than leeds, therefore leeds would conceade more goals . Unless they had a super human robot crazy cyborg keeper thing. lehmann has a lot more protection than robinson making his job a lot easier.this is also why i think being the best goalscorer isnt about having the most goals at the end of the season. because some strikers would get way more chances than others. ie james beatie got less goals than R.V.N. last year but i say he got la lot less chances .

He was a left winger at the time though. Anyway going on the basis of your comment you could say that Saha was playing up front on his own for Fulham and he'll be with one of the best in the world now. So it still could turn out that he could be world class. I'm not saying he will but never say never.

I agree with the 'keeper thing too by the way.

The top keeper in the Premiership last season was Brad Friedel. Year before was Shay Given. Neither had the best stats but were voted the best by their fellow players!

This thread has taught me that that Henry_14 and Kaids are so far up their own Arsenals that the cant seem to see the rest of the Premiership.

I am absolutely ****ing delighted that Reyes scored his exquisite goal v Middlesboro (although i realise that this doesnt make him a poor player). The fact of the matter is, Scott Parker is honestly the best player in the premiership today. And I have absolutely no affiliation with Charlton or Chelski, either as a fan or in any other way. The only evidence I base this on, is that for the past two seasons, I have watched every Charlton game live on Sky, and the highlights of their games on the Premiership (The good one, not the RTE pile of sh1t). He tackles more than anyone ive ever seen, and every single tackle is almost inch perfect. He gets booked for these inch-perfect tackles time after time after time (i.e. - after his beauty on Joe Cole v Chelsea at the valley a few weeks back) yet it never stops him running and working his socks off. He scores some superb goals... long range strikes (i.e - the 2 he scored vs my beloved Southampton this season) and some mazy runs (ie - vs leeds and southampton last season).

So please open your eyes and admire rather than praising someone you have never seen play before. And dont even dream of saying you have.

WTF are you on? Why wouldn't myself or kaids seen him? You dont have sky sports do you? Spanish football is on quite regulary

    ahahha

Parker is the best player in the premiership? I've never heard of this 'fact' before. By the looks of it, nobody else has either. Nice try though.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 252 ✭✭elbow316

erm, Parker best player in the premiership??
Theres players at his current club who are better than him, never mind the ones at Arsenal, United etc.
Do you honestly think if Wenger was asked did he want to swap Scott Parker for henry, Vieira, Pires or campell he would take it? :D

Damien Duff by miles. Has to be the best player this year. Look at the difference in a huge team when they lost thier main man. He's emmence, entertaining and by far and away the most exciting player in the Premiership since Cantona!!!!

I think the underated Malbranque would be right up there in the voting if he played for a top 3 side.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 175 ✭✭bdiddy

Going back to what this thread was originally about, Saha seems to be getting on nicely for himself already. 3 out of 2 ain't bad.

As for Henry, i have heard of him but i don't think he has the same effect on Arsenal as Duff does on Chelsea!!
