Questions regarding new fiber rings&ESB

    CAn anyone tell tell the following about the new government fiber rings which are currently being lit up around numerous towns and cities in Ireland:

    The ring which goes around a town, is it only the people who directly live in the town who can access the fiber or can people outside it access i.e. whats the range of this new infastructure?

    Is contention rate going to be a factor since its fiber ?

    Isnt the ESB putting down its own fiber along its electricity? Will that only serve specific towns or is it anyone who has electricity?

    With the government, ESB (+€ircon ?)putting down sperate infastructure all over the country will there not be a dublication of infastructure?

    Discussed in IoffL forum , the capacity seller will be the MSE as its known.

    Up to you, you must get your fibre as far as their holes.

    Has put.....wrapped around high tension lines in a national figure of 8 . No plans to increase coverage AFAIK

    Eircom dont light theirs and if they do they refuse to sell at a reasonable price so it must be duplicated.
