Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Recently got IOLBB, and planning to get a wireless router/modem box. My PC is not in my living room, what I would like to be able to do is listen to streaming media on my stereo via DSL, my PC, wireless network and <<missing piece>>

    The closest I've found is:
    http://www.linksys.com/products/product.asp?grid=33&scid=38&prid=554
Sounds good, comes with a remote control and all, but only allows access to media files on your harddrive and mixed reviews.

    Any other products out there?

Possibly not legal here, but i know people that have brought back low power fm transmitter from the US (where low power fm stereo transmitters are legal) and they work very well hooked up to the pc. Have a look on ebay id guess.

I saw a stereo somewhere that you plug into your dsl/network, enter a few network settings into it and you can listen to thousands of web radio stations. Problem is, I can't remember where or when I saw it... but I know I did!

If I remember, I'll post up the details.

If that's not what you're after, the low power fm transmitter would probably be your best bet.

you can persuade an xbox to do that, with a little work. of course then you would need a TV to select what to play on...

Interesting replies, hadn't considered the FM transmitter option, still focused on WiFi. Looks like there's a whole set of new products coming out

Can't find any of these for sale and some don't even have product specs. Might hold off a few months before making the jump...

I saw a Sony RoomLink in one of the Dublin Sony Centres before Christmas. It's a slim box for the top of your TV. It can serve music, video, and photo slide shows from a Sony VAIO. It uses standard Ethernet or 802.11a. The MP3s (maybe they were ATRAC) files sounded good through the 20-inch Sony WEGA television that I watched. The brochure says that RoomLink can play MP3 soundtracks behind slide shows. However, you need to convert your existing video clips into Sony's Giga Pocket format for them to work on the RoomLink system.
