Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Is that not 837?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,398 ✭✭✭MIN2511

    Is that not 837?
    Got that as well
    10x3 = 30
    30+8 = 38
    38x6 = 228
    228x4 = 912
    912-75 = 837

    I meant the solution he put up does not add up to the target.
    Tar, do you choose the targets so that they're hard?
    Couldn't get this one so I had to use my countdown solver (undergrad CS project).
    Hard is subjective. ;-)

    75 in my solution is a typo. Substitute for 25 (given).

    30 X 3 = 90
    90 + 7 = 97
    97 X 10 = 970
    970 +1 = 971

    Easy!

    Try 3 6 6 7 8 50
    Get 889

    15 - 10=5
    900 +5 =905

    It's the same as the numbers game from the CH4 game show Countdown(hence the name).You chose 6 numbers from a selection of 1 to 10 and you can also use 25 ,50 ,75 and 100. Using multipication, division, addition and/or subtraction you make up an awkward sum .Then you post(type) the numbers you've chosen and the target number you want reached in the same format as the posts above. The target should be achievable.
    It's the boring bit no one likes doing but for the most part if you can't be bothered posting the next one, you leave solving the last one to someone who will be bothered.

    Thats intended to be helpful rather than narky so please take it the right way :)

    N : 5 , 8 , 10 , 50 , 75 , 100
    T : 904

    ^ that still holds. I'm sure it's achievable :)
