Did it go on as hand luggage, or in the hold? Did you need to pad the bag inside at all?

And where did you go? Looks nice.

Can I guess that you took your Brompton to Seattle? Looks like Space Needle in background.......

Went in the hold - I don't think it would have fitted as hand luggage.

I padded inside the bag with a couple of camping foam mats (4 euro from Dunnes) and I also tied the bike down with cable ties so there was no movement. I also added extra padding around the easy wheels. Worked very well in the end and my bike was even TSA'd on the way back with no ill effects.

    Correct!

They look nice with silver spokes as well, hm.. got me thinking now. Although at the 1000£ mark that these probably cost you I can look for the Boras or the FF6.. hmm²

Where's the rest of the bike or is one of the upgrades required the other half of the bike? :D

Isn't that the one that some guy was trying to sell on the subforum a few months ago but it got pulled. Looks like a good chance you'd burn the legs of yourself though by accident.

My Ksyriums drive me nuts with the noise. Thought it was the bearing. Local bike shop mechanic had a look at them. Bearing fine - it is the skewer. Mavic skewers rattle, as the arm even when pressed to the close position wobbles ever so slightly.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,005 ✭✭✭ashleey

They look good and it's the really noisy free wheel (for posing I guess?). Thanks for the tip on the skewers. If they rattle I'll use the DT Swiss ones with the original wheels from my bike. The Mavics have supposedly shaved 400g off total weight so I'll expect to be blown into a ditch somewhere in Cork this Saturday
