(Sort of following on from Tom).

Mods should close this thread now. There is no point continuing with it any longer. Anyone wanting to post should send a picture to mods. If it is of equal or greater quality to the Black Prince, then allow it posted other wise tough.

Maybe a new thread should be opened
    (1) Post images of adequacy,
    (2) Post images where the bike (no matter hw crap) is too good for the rider.

    :)

There's probably a rule against posting anything with a triple on this thread, but here goes....

My Focus Cayo, a bit pimped since I bought it from Blorg: new stem, saddle, seatpost and bars.

The bars look a bit less horrendous in the flesh!

That's not a bike that you'd want to see people overtake you on.

Any time I see a photo of DH bike like that I always feel the need to do this to make the geometry make sense.

I'm aware of the Euro-violation, but you can prise my Garmin from my cold dead hand. The Powertap (whilst not specifically mentioned in the rules) no doubt cements me permanently into the wall of Fred. At least I'm only running one computer since I upgraded to Ant+.

    Salsa, those are crazy cranks.

I like this thread, it makes me feel much better about the relatiively small amount I've invested in bikes, and that it's not a bad thing to own a few :)

It's a figure 8 route which incorporates some of the Avondhu Way. It isn't technical but features a lot of gravel and rock (deathcookie/babyhead size) which makes it a bit tricky. We started from a lay-by in the waist of the 8 and did the western loop. Once off the the gravelly, eroded path you're onto dirt track for a while before hitting fire roads for the return uphill to the layby. The route we took is marked in pink in the photo while the other half is marked with red dots. You can see the eastern loop and d/l the .gpx file here

    http://www.everytrail.com/view_trip.php?trip_id=63156
(not my page, it belongs to a fella in the club)

There are also some photos, one of which quite nicely shows the condition of the Avondhu Way

All in all a fantastic day out, nothing difficult but some great scenery and a chance to do something different than just blast trails all day.

Edit - 13km for the western loop, 26km for the eastern totalling 39 km.
