I love everything but the spoke pattern on the wheels, for my 2000 euro wheelset I'll have a more traditional pattern thanks.

It'll be 2 v 1 Ramm!!!! Where to start, the miss matched spokes between wheels, the bottles, the clash between the frame logos and the wheels stuff.

To the images of ugly thread with you :D

  • Registered Users Posts: 14,317 ✭✭✭✭Raam

Mis-matched spokes? You mean the classic Campag tri-spoke pattern? I've been away from here too long ;-)

I mentioned I'm no fan of the tri spoke pattern earlier in the thread but to have one of each is getting me all kinds of triggered.

    I need a beer now :D

yes, but you are plastered in logos in mismatched fonts for the bout.

at least we can't see any details of Raam's hob in that photo, so we can't argue over that.

    Glorious.
And I don't even like pink

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,282 ✭✭✭dave_o_brien

The pink one's a babe. The new one is a stunning frame and build ruined utterly by Colnago's dodgy new typeface. Specifically the upper case A and the variation in stroke thickness. It changed, what, two years ago? How have they not changed it again. It is destroying that bike.

they probably brought some marketing firm in who told them 'oh, you need to refresh your brand'. because no marketing firm makes money from telling a customer 'oh your brand is strong, well recognised, and has history, so best leave well alone'.
so instead they tell them to go with a bland, blocky sans serif font.

It's such a disgracefully crude type. That frame... beautiful lugs and top notch craftsmanship with a type that resembles that used by a pre-teen making a poster for their school jumble sale. Unforgiveable and impossible to see beyond.
