I actually wonder what bike Lance will ride next year? He'll probably have a crystal skull headset, a dead fish cut in half for the saddle and some condoms stuck to deep section aero wheels.

Sounds about right. A number of the bikes he rode in the 2009 Tour were decorated by an artist. Presumably in aid of charity. As to his choice of bike, one would think Trek would be the supplier of choice. That really depends on the terms of their arrangements with Astana re exclusivity...now that Radio Shack have both Lance and Johan Bruyneel, it would seem sacrilegious for Trek not to follow suit.

    Planet X,

This is Images of Beauty. I can take the flat bars. I can take the excessive steering tube. I can even take the reflectors.

But for god's sake man, please remove that pie plate.

Here's mine!! I have loved Treks for as long as I have ridden road bikes, but this one tops them all..I got it from a tri shop in Cork who upgraded to a Cervelo. Just back from a long weekend by the lakes in Milan..If ye were to see the bikes...Pure Bike Porn!!

The bell is essential, used it twice in the last couple of days and cleared the bike lane. Result.

I love the photography - particularly the placement of everything in the last picture. The pedal winking at us can't be an accident!

I've read that Trek Bicycle Corporation will be sponsoring Lance's team next year. I'm sure they'll design something great for the 2010 Tour.

Can't wait for Armstrong v Contador. If pictures can speak a thousand words...

Hey Rob! Gr8 picture;Armstrong is a legend, but think he is probably too old now to challenge Contador and win the tour. But his team can have a big influence on the 2010 tour,

Here's some pics of my new Planet X (apologies for the picture quality), built by Mr. Skeffington

  • Registered Users Posts: 620 ✭✭✭Super Freak

Nice bike joker !! I would have went for one of these if the current offer was available when I purchased my Cayo earlier this year. Slightly OT for this thread, How do you rate them Mr Skefington?

    They certianly look fantastic.

  • Registered Users Posts: 922 ✭✭✭Mr. Skeffington

They are a very nice bike, I love the new Ultegra groupset, very little difference between it and Dura-Ace. The Planet X wheels look decent quality. Total bike weight is usually around 7.8kg which is nice and light for the money. Frameset also looks good quality, fork has carbon steerer tube.

Must arrange that spin some day. Priests Leap followed by road up to Barley Lake perhaps. Somehow I'd say yu'd have no problems on them.
    Nice set up.

Climbing hurts!! I'm usually dropped, leaving me wondering why I put myself through the agony, only to reach the top, then I know why! I'm looking forward to the challenge, I think Coominaspig is the steepest I've been on.

Not my own bike, but still an image of beauty. I was in my lbs yesterday and the I was chatting to the owner when he whipped out a brand new Di2 Wilier Cento Uno from the back to show a customer. He proceeded to show off the amazing electronic shifting, but ended in saying...€8.5k worth of a bike...SOLD! Wow, and I seriously doubt it is a racer somehow as this guy has his own club and would know everyone on the racing scene in the area, as would I, but didn't say who it was. I can't wait to see who is actually on it around the place, that is if it doesn't belong to some lucky weakthy person who spoils themselves with 8.5k bikes and doesn't actually use them for fear it might bet a bit dirty. The picture below I came across online on a bike shops's website who build many superbikes, and they said it was arguably the best bike looking to ever leave the shop. I feel it is quite stunning alright! What do ye think?

Wow, Di2 and Lightweight wheels, I guess he can afford to keep changing the white bar tape anyway!

I digging the white spokes, but I'd feel really preposterous riding around on such a superbike.

Is that a compact? And all those spacers under the stem...

Yes, I'm loving the white spokes too! Pretty sure it's not a compact anyway, but all those spacers was the only thing that I was surprised with. I'm just hoping he has yet to set up his position and just took a picture before the stem was lowered, spacers removed and steerer cut. At least I hope so anyway! Glad ye like it too...;)

    Lovely bike.

You would want to be a pretty savage cyclist to need such a bike though. There should be a compulsory "Fred check" before being allowed near something like that.

I beg to differ. It's a supermodel with a facial boil, and that facial boil has a Shimano logo.

FFS, why would you put Di2 on a Wilier? It's wrong. On something aggressively technical like a Cervelo or BMC it would make sense.

Give it to me, I'll sort it out.

Probably too plastic looking for you too.

Don't worry, I agree. The only decent picture of a Colnago CLX 2.0 I could find to wa......I mean, put as my desktop background, is unfortunately kitted out with a shimano groupset. I thought about photoshopping a campag gruppo onto it, but the angles are awkward. I just try to keep lots of windows open at all times so I can't see it.
