TEAC DVD burners...

I've heard that TEACs are basically rebranded Pioneers. Does anyone know what model Pioneer the TEAC DVD +RW DV-W58E is?? I'm having problems with it and there's no information available on it on the TEAC website... I'm looking for a firmware upgrade.

Some TEAC dvd-rom drives were pioneers but I don't think the writers are.

Lots of different OEMs are selling rebranded Pioneer 106/A06's. Not sure if the Teac in question is one, but the Medion one Aldi were selling a few weeks ago was - bought one myself.
