    Lads,

What do yis suggest as the best camera shop in Dublin (pricewise). I'm looking to buy a good mid range digital camera but also looking to trade in an old camera if possible. Is there anywhere that does this??

    Thanks for any help.

With the prices for digital cameras in shops here it would probably cost less to buy one online and keep your old one.

This should probably be moved to the Art/Anim/Photo board no?

I have found http://www.pixmania.com/ good for Canon digital cameras.

Although there is one disadvantage this is a French company so all the manuals for the camera are in French but I always preferred having the camera €100 cheaper and downloading the manual from the manufacturer’s website.

Also order the camera from the French rather than the UK website as you will know exactly what you are charged in euros rather than leaving it up to you credit card company to set the exchange rate.

Not from within the EU. If the company does over a certain amount of business then they are supposed to register for VAT hare and charge the Irish rate, otherwise you will pay French VAT.

Amazon UK are also good for digital cameras.

http://www.camireland.com (they're German) offer a good, fast service, and are usually competitive. Browse/search the Art/Anim/Photo forum for this and other suggestions. Some of the shops in Dublin buy second hand kit, but don't expect anything near the real value.
