Well sure its been a while since there's been a load of Quakers round here...

So on Fri 4th August there will be a big LAN goin on here in Net House in Rathmines.

I'm organising with Monty a competition with prizes etc.

Ive got tickets to witnness which is august 5th and 6th.
Now If I went up to dublin on the friday, I could go to that lan. Problem is place to kip for da nite (or for a few hours next morning if need b )
Im a cheap bastid so ill prolly find a campsite near the concert for saturday nite, but if ye have any suggestions for a place to stay if i could go to this lan they would b welcome

I'll challange ANYONE to a keys only, bog standard install of Quake (V1.06). None of yer fancy-schmancy Quakeworld, Winquake or GLQuake toss. FOV 90, cl_bob 1, the works.

They were the days, how dumb we were. Running around E1M7, lagged to ****, 2 FPS. Arrr.

Take it Quake3.

Incidently, I'm selling 10Meg Ethernet Network cards. They are dual RJ45 and Co-axial connector fitted, so they can use Co-ax and Cat5 cables. Drivers supplied.

Price: £15 bills.

I also do crossover cat5 cables, suitable for connecting 2 PCs together without a hub. Unless you're Andy, you have to pay.

I only have a few, so order now.

I'm gonin to Witnness and I'll be at the LAN.

The competition will be Q3TDM with teams of two (I know its irregular, but I can only get enuff cash for 2 prizes). The teams will be picked by seeding ppl so that they are as fair as possible. (i.e. 1 **** plyr with a gud un)
So anyone and everyone has a chance to win a prize.
There will be an entry fee of £1.00.
Prizes will probably be vouchers for Gamesworld/Game or sumat like that subsidised by net house.

The date stays the same...cause there is a CS LAN the weekend b4 already arranged.

there are plenty there already...well 21 actually...
At the moment its lookin like the competition will go as follows:

There will be 3 FFA competitions to seed everyone. Each round 10 mins on three maps.

From this seeding and previous knowlege on player ability teams of two will be drawn up.

Then there will be a series of knock out rounds between the teams.
