visitor stats

hi before some hosts ive used had a stats or logs folder where i could see the visitor stats. now im running my own apache php mysql server and would like to to the same is there a free php app that will do this for me can any of the web hosts out there recommend one

Of course if you're looking for remotely hosted real-time visitor stats I know an excellent one to recommend!
