utopian society

    The dream of the future is to create a utopian society for us all to live a happy and prosperous life. I'd like to know how the hell would we go about that given that the world is currently in a state of severe discontent on a political and economic plate. The only thing going for us at the moment is the rate of technological expansion that could lead to an invasion of communication gadgets that we can all use to communicate without the need to talk. We'd be like drones continuosly sending texts, e-mails and other electronic forms of expression eventually leading to a world of silent souls. Is that cool or is it a drool? You decide and post up your reply.

    We wouldnt be "drones" in any sense of the world Im aware of, and certainly wouldnt be silent in the communicative sense. Communication would probably increase (no language barriers, increased intelligence, comms breeds comms). I dont however think that such a world would happen, or really has much to do with a utopian society.

    This really sounds like somesort of retro-philes nightmare..
