Sorry to hear about your bad luck. I've used a crowd called the Motor Cycle Recovery Service (087 251 6256 / 086 833 0705) here in Dublin. Unlikely to go as far as Germany, but since they're in the business they might be worth calling for advice?

Billy-Joe, bit more info might help here.

    What was the misfortune?
    What model is it?
How much you willing to pay to have it recovered?

Bit of a long story regarding why it's in Germany, doesn't take away from the fact that its 2000 old miles away. Its an old Suzuki GS550. If you are capable of recovering it I'm all ears !!!!

Was just asking to clarify that the 'misfortune' wasn't anything illegal...

Was asking about the model because a big bore bike would be a viable option to ride home from Germany, if it was a 125/250 - forget it. Wouldn't fancy riding a naked GS, especially an old one, 2000 miles through Northern Europe in winter!! Sorry...

Your best bet would be to contact the numerous cargo/haulage companies in the yellow pages and ask which of them have operations in Germany or deal with German counterparts, most will have one or the other. For example Danzas is a huge operation and they have an Irish arm, might be able to do something for you. FYI - I had a cruiser shipped home from the south of France a couple of years ago. Didn't arrange the paperwork myself so can't tell you who it was with but I can tell you it had to be specially crated (for insurance reasons) and it cost me an even €1000 to bring it back.

Try some of the Irish bike shops that do alot of Japanese imports, e.g. Bray Honda Centre, RedLine Motorcycles Rathdrum..

They may be able to offer you some advice on shipping your bike back (although I reckon alot of their stuff comes in cargo containers)..

This site, might also help (but most seem US based).

Have you tried this company? Seem to specialise in European Motorcycle shipping..

Aaaah, the penny drops....EMS was the crowd that brought in my bike from France. Sorry I couldn't remember their name until my memory was jogged.
