    Hi there,

I'm having a problen pinging any location in de world. I'm using a 56k modem with €ircoms flat rate 25 hr package. Whenever I try running a ping or tracert the same problem appears:

Pinging home.eircom.net [159.134.198.138] with 32 bytes of data:

Reply from 159.134.238.247: Destination net unreachable.
Reply from 159.134.238.247: Destination net unreachable.
Reply from 159.134.238.247: Destination net unreachable.
Reply from 159.134.238.247: Destination net unreachable.

    Ping statistics for 159.134.198.138:
    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 0ms, Maximum = 0ms, Average = 0ms

    AND

    Tracing route to home.eircom.net [159.134.198.138]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

    1 as1.dbc.drogheda.eircom.net [159.134.238.247] reports: Destination net unreachable.

    Trace complete.

Wat de hell is going on?? My internet's working fine. Hav eircon disabled pinging at exchanges??

Any help would be greatly appreciated
    Thanks
    :)

Have you recently installed a firewall?

Looks like pings are being blocked at the access server..

If it's a problem for you call support and see if they are planning to remove the restriction. If you just want to play with traceroutes etc. have a look at traceroute.org

They blocked pings on some of their pops a while back, looks like it's still blocked on the one you dial into (as1.dbc.drogheda is the dial in pop).

edit: didn't see your post there bloke, should hit refresh before replying :)
