Due to Sigames and Eidos parting company, CM 03/04 is the last version of the game in its current incarnation.
The next SIgames game will be called Football Manager.
The change in name now broadens the boards subject matter to encompass all fooball management games (even if the rest are rubbish).

But Championship Manager is not called football management? Championship Manager is still going to be called Championship Manager by Eidos.

If I am incorrect, feel free to shoot me down like a pigeon.

SI's version will be called Football Manager, while Eidos have hired a more efficient programming company to deal with the size of CM. They will be releasing Championship Manager 5, probably before or after Christmas (http://www.championshipmanager.co.uk).

You know FM IS Cm ......Sports interative owns the database and all the technology used in the game CM will be crap unlike FM

ok I will decide on which I will use when they both come out. I can see Cm being Better now but thats just my opinion.

phenom - Championship Manager is made by Sports Interactive (Sigames) and published by Eidos (Eidos didn't have to do a lot of work). Eidos and Sigames decided to go their own ways and Eidos had the rights to the name (Championship Manager). Sigames have all the original data while Eidos will have to start from scratch. Lets say nobody got the rights to the Championship Manager name and both Eidos and Sigames released a football management game, you would buy Sigames version. Just because Eidos's game is going to be called CM doesn't mean the game will be any good, it won't be anything like CM.
