I've made a couple of timelapse clips since i've posted last,
but the file sizes are huge. i made one AVI clip, about 40seconds long, 320 * 240 @ 14fps and its about 130Mb in size.

Compared to one i downloaded, which was only 1.4mb this is a bit ridiculous.
what software could be used to trim the clip and should it be converted to an mpg?

download a codec pack like nemo or k-lite codec pack first. then download Virtual Dub and compress the 130mb avi to floppy size.

they've been cropped and resampled, a bit of loss of quality but its ok.

Could you point me in the direction of any free web hosting that allows the uploading of avi's? or mpgs?

    Finally got around to it,
the nice people at boards do indeed allow avi's.

I brought the d/l size down to 1.45mb, so its not too bad.
there is a loss of quality, but it still looks cool. in my opinion neway.

    its on my site now.
click the link in my sig and then time lapse photography if you want to see it.

Hey panda that's really deadly. So that's 560 photos over how many hours? How did you set that up? is there a program that grabs a still from the camera every so many minutes? i'm sure premiere does it... welldone anyway (could have done without that crow flciking into it tho.)

Not sure how u reached that conclusion daire, it was more like 1000 pics, over a period of around 6 hours. I think i had the program take one every 10 seconds.
and short of running around the garden and shouting all day you cant really control where the crows fly. :ninja:

Click here to get the program to make the clips, works with any digital camera(i think).
