Quake Newbies - woohoo, back in college in 4 days WOOOOHHOOOOO, I like beating up on (new born) quake children

Heh. What a load of horse muck. It would be fine if everyone treated Quake3 as a game, but from my experience the quake community is easily the worst communities i've ever been apart of, mainly because a small few and only a small few do not treat quake3 as a game and I know alot of you know what I'm on about here and those who don't have no reason to know.

I'll give a prime example:

When out with a few mates having a few nice pints, few laughs, all good, etc. Then out of no where easily the most stupid, stupid, uncalled for arguement comes out of no where about a f.u.c.king quake3 match that happened more than 6 months earlier. FFS. I wouldn't mind if it was healthy rivalry but unfortunetly his accusations went far beyond that, which saddens me to be honest.

When something like this happens its time to sit back and take a look in the mirror and ask your self am I treating this as a game. If this doesn't work get help.

Joking aside, I must agree. It's a game. Treat it as such and leave it at that. You can be very competitive in a game and it can be good to build up a healthy (but fun) rivalry.

20 people saw an argument, but most of them didn't hear what it was about. You're doing the same now except it's in front of a lot more. I'm not gonna get involved in it, but I think it should have stayed between you and him, and not these boards, coz you know he's gonna reply and say exactly what he thinks in front of everyone.
