In view of the upcoming elections in the US, this article in the guardian weighs up the chances of Bush getting another 4 years...

The author concludes that the relationship between Bush and Bin Laden is more closely linked than many would assume - Basically, if Bin Laden is killed or captured before the election, surely Bush is a shoo in... If he evades capture, Bush can claim that he's the only candidate that has the experiance to continue the fight against him... "I'm a war president..."

From Bin Ladens point of view, Bush has managed to isolate the US to a higher degree than any other president in living memory - He has invaded and occupied two muslim states since 9/11... fueling his great jihad with new recruits everyday... Would a shift in policy represent a new threat to him?
