To promode or not to promode?

Lads and ladies , now that the offical 1.0 is out , should we all make a move to it , i mean as in for leagues and set our servers to 1.o and not vq3?
Or just leave the servers as they are and let people switch to it as they want?
promode could be the qw of quake, as in it got more popular than vanilla. So should we have a vote or what ?
please no spam posts sayin Gayness and death to promode, a simple no to promode would do.

ProMode is cool. But the problem is, CPL and other high standard competitions are not going with it just yet. I think using the servers as is and just voting promode on when people wanna play it will be cool enuf for the moment.

One thing tho, remember back in the days we all loved WinQuake and it took us a whole year or so to catch on that QuakeWorld was the thing. It could be the same kinda thing that can happen with Vanilla Q3 and ProMode. Lets keep an open mind and not be left behind this time.

Promode rocks, but like the lads said, we cant do jack until the big comps change, otherwise we would be like Poland having to pull out of competitions because they are all PM.

The sentiment so far is that people prefer Pro Mode, that its a more fun game. Yet people wont switch over because this group of americans that run the CPL say VQ3 is how they are running their competitions. So, are we are all either playing the game because we enjoy it (proMode), or because we want to be competitive (VQ3)?

Raises an interesting point regarding all those 1000's of posts over the years about playign the game as a game, not getting too into it etc.

Play what you enjoy, not what someone else has decided you should enjoy.

I played qw duels, 2v2, 3v3 and 1 short of a 4v4 aswell as the obvious ca this week. QW is still happening.

you cant play games which require 2 or more people with yourself, you need other people to play as well.
(otherwise id probably still play QW)
