New PSNI college to be built in Cookstown
    18/02/2004 - 7:55:19 am

Officials in the North are believed to have chosen Cookstown as the site for a proposed new PSNI training college.

The Co Tyrone town was among three sites shortlisted for the multi-million pound college.

The other two were Nutts Corner and Crumlin, both on the eastern shore of Lough Neagh in Co Antrim.

The successful site is due to be announced tomorrow.

The new college will replace the existing one in east Belfast, which is considered out of date.

If it is built in Cookstown, it will be one of the few major British government industrial investments west of the River Bann.
