    I know it's a bit broad for one thread but the idea is that you put forward what you'd change about not only Ireland but the World, whats you perfect Ideal of how it should be politically, hell draw yor own map of territories if you like. Try and keep it reasonably short though. And the Biggest rule is don't take the piss out of anyone elses or be debating it out to a 182634734.... page thread!!!!!!!!!, can't stress this enough, just let your ideas do the talking so everybody gets a go to show their version.

    Wow, a utopia huh?

    Hmmm, well I see some sort of cataclysmic disaster happening to mankind, disease, natural disaster, terrorism or alien invasion, to unite mankind under a single goal.

    Its this common goal (mainly our survival) that would allow us to see past our petty differences & unite together for our common good.

    As such there would be a single government that would control & distribute the natural resources of the planet in such a way that everyone & anyone got what they needed first & then wanted (when there was spare) second.

    This would require a complete re-distribution of wealth or a removal of material wealth altogether.

    It would require the philosophy that the individual or human being is more important than money or profit etc. etc.

    Basically it would require a complete re-evaluation of all our beliefs for the last 50-100 years or so and naturally enough, would be EXTREMELY unlikely. Still it is supposed to be hypothetical, no?

    Territories would involed a united Europe, a Totally United America's, Asia, Africa & australia. In fact it would be a single country per continent, represented by a single person who would be elected democratically every 3 months.

    Candidates would be allowed to present a 10 minute speech on why they should be president for this term with no campaigning allowed. All people would be required to vote or else have their right to vote revoked. The representative of each continent would not be allowed to run consecutively at all but would be permitted to run as many times as they wish for leadership.

    Terrorism would not be a problem as all land & property would be borderline communal anyway, between Neighbours & towns & cities & countries & continents.

    Everything is shared and funneled back to the head office. Everything is allocated from there. No military budget means billions per year can be devoted on health care, scientific research & space exploration.

    Within 25-50 years we could colonise the moon or even mars & avoid any over population problems.

    Green house gases, petroleum (except for plastics) would be completely removed, along with other fossil fuels. Wind/Solar/Tidal/Hydro-Electric etc. etc. would be used to fill the gaps left by their departure.

    Thats a basic overview anyway.
