Is the nokia 8890 new

The kid brother was asking me to check out the 8890 as it was a new fone and hard to get(usually only bill pay)but when I did a search on boards it came up with results of people selling them as far back as last summer.Have they updated the 8890 or has he got it wrong? Cheers

He's got it wrong.

8890 is an old phone. Has been replaced since with the seriously overpriced 8910i which is almost an old phone as this stage.
