New hard Drive problems

    I installed a new 120Gig serial ata hard drive I partioned the drive in three sections c/d/e I installed win 2000 on c but I can't format d&e they start to format and then stop and says windows is not able to complet format.

    do a scandisk. It sounds like a dodgy drive.

    Are you installing the same file system on the drive,
    C,D&E,

    The best thing to do, do a clean install on the hdd (win 2K) then when its finished, Partition the drive into the different sizes, use Patition Magic 8 to do this.

    Or try creating just your c: partition in fdisk leaving room for d & e.

    Once 2k is installed create the other 2 partition within windows.
