    Hi Ronan,

    Training will begin when Nicky and Sam get there connection sorted.

    Is there any sign of the connect from UL being sorted this year. ?.

    Firewall-schfireschmall. Even if they do block off 27500+, it don't matter a ****e if you have the 'l33t pr0xy c0din skillz at hand: "where there's a port there's a way".

    They can't block off everything, most colleges will operate a blanket firewalling policy with perhaps part of their subnet having unfettered unilateral world-pointing access (think pr0n munching le3ch-lecturers), and for the rest of the labs, a few key TCP ports open (http etc) and most likely a couple of UDP ports (radius, snmp etc, nfsd) and yes, they may be on privedged ports but you can bind to anything below 1024 as lowly user on NT b0xen...

    The situation with the room is the same as the summer for team.ie
    But as for playing from plassey it is getting grimmer by the day. We are going to make one final plea for what we want, and we will do this through the students union. If this fails thats it we have no fallback from there. Eventually the whole college will be firewalled in their 2 year plan. there will always be a place for team.ie here in ul if they need it be assured of that. coz by christ when they go to firewall where i work it wont be worth the hassle for them.
