Vocally Liam Gallagher is certainly distinc, borrowing on both Johnny Rotten and John Lennon, where he sits somewhere in the middle. And as such is a great Vocalist, least said about the Lyrics, Check out Def Maybe for his vocals.

Id prefare either Lennon or Lydon to Gallagher

The original Clash lineup. And by that I mean with Topper Headon on drums, not Terry Chimes who was the drummer for the recording of the first album.

I agree with flea from rhcp on bass. but i would have joe strummer from the clash on lead vocals, john fuisciante from rchp on lead guitar, john bonham from led zeppelin on drums and ed o'brien from radiohead on rhythm guitar.:ninja:

This would be the best band by far.

    Rob Thomas(matchbox twenty) - lead Vocals,Piano
John Frusciante(Red Hot Chilli Peppers) - Lead Guitar/Rythm Guitar/Acoustic Guitar
    Mike McCreedy(Pearl Jam) - Lead Guitar/Rythm guitar/Acoustic Guitar
Flea(Red Hot Chilli Peppers) - Bass
    Dave Grohl(Nirvana/Foo Fighters) - Drums/Lead Vocals/Backing vocals/guitars

With those members you have quality on all instruments and a number of them can play different instruments and sing.

Cynic, Tool, and Liquid Tension Experiment already have the "best of" line ups.
